A young investigative journalist Francie sets out to uncover the trials and tribulations of life for unemployed youth but unexpectedly comes across Baz – a real to life good news story of emerging young enterprise. Ignited into action by a low toleration to boredom – and encouraged with a timely loan from his mother – Baz creates a new enterprise in mowing lawns and garden maintenance. Waiting for him to trip and fall the journalist follows Baz’s first strides into the complex world of running a business. In amazement she reports on his uncanny ability to come to grips with modern accounting. Using a deft combination of comedy a good story and expertly produced accounting transactions brought to life with on screen animated graphics this series is a valuable resource for accounting 1. Baz the Biz Wiz Baz gets started with a loan from his mother advice from a local business consultant and an additional loan from a bank. Armed with borrowed money determination and application of the first principles of single entry accounting Baz buys up sets up and earns his first dollar. 2. Baz’s Business Booms Francie the ever cynical journalist senses that all is not right with Baz – the young business wiz. She uncovers non-cash transactions and suspects shady deals with Baz’s growing list of clients. In the end however she learns – as do we the viewers – that the business has grown to new levels of sophistication and that Baz has entered the world of accrual accounting.
